The Goldsmiths’ Company released eight people into the freedom of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths yesterday.
Judith Lockwood, Tudor Baron, Jane Adam, Maeve Gillies, Manish Chhowala, Sushil Saluja, Martina Grumitt and Daniel Munn were made Freemen in a ceremony at Goldsmiths’ Hall in London.
Judith Lockwood shared her thoughts on admission: “Yesterday was a special day of personal reflection and celebration as I was inducted into the Freedom of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.
“A true privilege and honor observed by those for whom I am grateful and fortunate to be in my life.
“And something I had never dreamed of.
“Congratulations to everyone who was also welcomed into the company yesterday.”
Grumitt and Munn started the Goldsmiths’ Center Foundation program and were both released after completing their training.
Grumitt was trained as a diamond assembler under Mark Griffin, while Munn was an apprentice enameller to Paul Christopher Mann.
The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, better known as the Goldsmiths’ Company, is one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London and received its first royal charter in 1327.
